Did you know that sleep affects both your physical and your mental health?

If you aren’t sleeping well, you already know the impact that has on you physically. You drag yourself out of bed and through the day. Fatigue sets in and keeps you from functioning well. You can find yourself becoming dependent on caffeine to get through the day.

There’s also a mental impact. Your brain can do funny things when it doesn’t get rested. A lack of sleep affects your ability to stay focused and to think clearly. You get a case of brain fog. This increases anxiety and stress.

A way to get better sleep is to have a sleep routine that works for you. Create a schedule and be consistent with sleep and wake times. End the day with a cup of warm tea, like Sleepytime. Take a warm bath to relax. Dim the lights and stay off electronics (like phones) once you get in bed. Try using an eye mask to cut down on light and a fan to create white noise which is helpful for many people.
